The Bachelorette: Season 12, Week 2

The Bachelorette: Season 12, Week 2

To be perfectly honest, I'm not much of a reality television junkie. I love lighthearted comedies (i.e. Friends) or teen dramas (i.e. The Vampire Diaries). I've never been one to sit in front of the TV and watch marathons on Bravo. However, I know that The Bachelor & The Bachelorette have some majorly dedicated fans, but I can say with complete honesty, I've never watched a single episode of either show...until now.

I blame it on the hype and ABC's marketing tactics (since I know for a fact that there are at least 4 billboards with this show's promo image plastered on them within a one mile radius of my apartment). Long story short, I'm watching The Bachelorette for the very first time. Every week, I'll come on here and post a little blurb about my thoughts on the recent episode, and more importantly, my thoughts on each of the guys.

We're starting with Week 2 (since Week 1 has long passed us now...). I will say that I actually quite like JoJo as the bachelorette. She seems fairly genuine, and she is definitely dedicated to finding a life-long love through this show, so for that, I wish her the best of luck.

Now onto the guys...I actually had to snatch a list off of Wikipedia, because there was no way I could remember all of those names. I mean, there are literally THREE guys named James. Good grief!

OH! I want to preface this by saying these are just MY THOUGHTS. I don't want anyone to get offended by anything I say. After all, it's all just a show and meant for entertainment, so let's keep it as such. Okay, back to the guys:

Chad- I had to get my thoughts on Chad out of the way first and foremost (all other guys are listed in alphabetical order). Let's be honest, Chad is an a**hole. There's no getting around it, so let's just call it like it is. He will, however, be on the show for quite a while. I definitely don't think he'll win, and I think if JoJo had her way this last week, he would have been sent home. BUT the show needs views and ratings, and some good drama is the only way to acquire those, unfortunately. None of the other guys are even remotely as interesting as Chad. Do I like him? Not at all. And that's why I will keep watching. I want to make sure he doesn't win, which is exactly what the producers of the show want. Good television tactics, ABC! I totally didn't see it coming *insert eye roll here*.

Alex- He seems sweet and charming. I'm glad he stood up to Chad in the last episode. I like him.

Ali- Again, seems sweet (I think this is going to be a trend for the majority of the guys). I like him, too.

Chase- Gosh I didn't even remember this guy...I literally had to Google his picture to remember what he looks like. I'll classify him as unmemorable.

Christian- Umm, I don't think we've really learned ANYTHING about this guy...#getonthatABC

Daniel- Here we have Chad's sidekick a.k.a. a**hole #2. Don't like him. Haven't liked him since he got wildly drunk and acted like an idiot in Week 1.

Derek- Is this the guy who went on the one-on-one date with JoJo this week? If so, he seems fake. Like, REALLY fake. I don't hate him, but I feel like he's hiding something, which irritates me.

Evan- This is probably the biggest question mark in the entire show. To be perfectly honest, he seems like the COMPLETE opposite of all of the other guys. That's not necessarily a bad thing, it just leaves me confused. I don't really see him staying around long term.

Grant- I don't really feel like we've had a chance to know much about Grant yet. Another question mark.

James F.- Meh...not sure what I think. Seems average to me.

James T.- Okay, I just have to say it...every time I look at this guy, he reminds me of a leprechaun. Please tell me I'm not the only one here! I will say that the little speech he made for JoJo was very sweet. He definitely seems like he has a good heart. I like him.

Jordan- I'll say this right now, this is my FAVORITE guy so far! He's really cute, and he seems to be a really sweet person. I've liked him since Week 1, and I'm still rooting for him moving forward.

Luke- I don't know why, but Luke kind of creeps me out. I think he comes off as a nice person, but something about the way he looks at people (specifically JoJo) gives me the chills. I definitely don't hate him, maybe that's just the way he looks. But I'm being cautious of him in future weeks.

Nick- I don't remember ANYTHING about this guy...and neither does Google apparently. Can't even find a visual, so we'll keep moving.

Robby- I really like him BUT I kind of feel like he's a closeted gay guy. Nothing wrong with that at all, but you know, maybe competing to win a girl's heart on national TV isn't really the place I would put him. I still like him though.

Vinny- Hmmm, no. Don't like him. Not sure why, I just get a weird feeling from him. Almost like he's in it for the wrong reasons.

Wells- Oh gosh, I REALLY like Wells, too. He has a really sweet sense of humor, and you can tell that he really tried his hardest this week (despite almost dying during the fireman challenge). I would give him my second place favorite.

The three eliminated guys- Brandon, James S., and Will. I didn't really have an opinion one way or the other on any of them. To be honest, I'm just happy that one of the James' is out of the running to eliminate some of the name confusion...haha!

Who else is watching The Bachelorette this season? In case you haven't started yet, it airs on Mondays at 8pm on ABC (there will be TWO episodes next week, on Monday & Tuesday at 8pm). I can't wait to see what next week brings!
