The Bachelorette: Season 12, Week 3
So this week was a double episode week with FOUR FULL HOURS of heart-racing drama...okay, maybe I was being a bit over-dramatic there, but this week was pretty juicy.
Before we jump into talking about the guys (because let's be honest, that's what we all really care about), there was one thing I wanted to note about JoJo. I feel like she's almost TOO neutral. Seriously, I understand that she wants to pick the right guy for her (after all, this is supposedly going to be her life-long husband), but I feel like she's giving some of the guys too much of a chance (I'm looking at you, Chad). It almost makes her seem like a damsel-in-distress, which puts me off a little (just my personal opinion).
Now let's move into my thoughts on each of the guys. WARNING: If you don't want any spoilers from this week, STOP READING NOW! I'm warning you...
Chad- Okay, we HAD to start here again (the rest of the guys will be listed in alphabetical order). I'll be perfectly honest, I didn't expect him to be eliminated so quickly! Seriously, he's great drama for the show, and I half expected JoJo to eliminate Alex on their 2-on-1 date just to stir the pot some more. I really do think that Chad is mentally unstable. In my professional opinion (you know, having taken two psychology classes in college and having absolutely no medical background), I'm going to diagnose him as dangerously narcissistic and bipolar. I'm sure that the ABC producers wanted Chad around as long as possible to create drama for the show, but I think it's getting a little too much now. The violet death threats were really uncalled for. Here's hoping that we really did see the end of him (because that "To be continued..." ending didn't look very promising).
Alex- I'm SO glad that he stood up against Chad again this week. I don't really know if JoJo is as interested in him as she is with some of the other guys, but at least he triumphed over Chad, so I'm happy.
Ali- I'm not surprised that he was eliminated, but I actually liked him. I'm not heartbroken he left, but I thought he added some nice variety into the group of guys.
Chase- Seems sweet, but I don't think we've gotten to know him well enough to judge. Wait, did he go on the 1-on-1 with JoJo? Seriously, I can't even remember...again, I'm labeling him "unmemorable."
Christian- I guess we now know why ABC didn't harp on giving us ANY information on this guy...he didn't last very long. Again, I'm not heartbroken over him leaving.
Daniel- I still think he's an a**hole, although he didn't come across as one this week. Here's my prediction- Chad left this week, so his sidekick will take over as a**hole of the house. Anyone else with me on that?
Derek- I swear this guy is SO unmemorable. I guess that means he's not a bad one, so I'll give him the green light for this week.
Evan- Honestly, I'm actually REALLY glad Evan is still around (both in the competition AND on this Earth). I definitely thought Chad was going to kill him after his performance on stage with the steroid implications. At least he just had his shirt ripped apart and not his body. Haha!
Grant- I feel like we still don't know that much about Grant. He seems nice and a little mysterious, but that's all I can say for now.
James F.- Umm, I still don't know who this guy is...another unmemorable one.
James T.- Okay, I'm REALLY liking this guy! He seems so genuinely sweet, and that 1-on-1 date with the swing dancing was so cute. You can tell he really put in effort, but still had fun with it. And then the song he wrote for her <3 This guy bumped up to one of my favorites very quickly.
Jordan- Am I the only one who thinks it's unfair that he played quarterback for both of the teams during the football game so there was no way for him to lose? I mean, I get that he used to be an NFL quarterback, so he had an obvious advantage over all of the other guys, but something about that seemed totally staged. Anyways, he was definitely my favorite guy last week, but he slipped a little this week. I still think he's very sweet, but he seems a little childish. I'm not sure why, but I'm just getting that vibe from him. I still like him though.
Luke- I think his 1-on-1 date with JoJo was very cute, and he seems like a genuinely nice guy. With that being said, he still kind of creeps me out. I'm just not into this guy the way JoJo seems to be.
Nick- He was eliminated, and I STILL don't remember what he looks like...umm, okay, let's move on.
Robby- Still like him. Still think he's gay. But he seems like a nice person and he's good eye candy, so it's fine if he sticks around.
Vinny- I still really don't like Vinny. I get a really uncomfortable feeling with him. I don't think he'll be around too much longer, to be honest.
Wells- I LOVE Wells. He's bumped up to my first-place favorite this week. He didn't do or say anything particularly amazing to where I should love him, but I still do. I guess I just have a soft spot for the underdogs, and he definitely seems like the underdog compared to most of the other guys.
So I think that wraps it up! Let me know in the comments if you think Chad is actually gone for good or if he's going to somehow conjure himself back into the competition. I'm really curious to know your thoughts!
